MP3 Editor Pro is a sound editing application for Windows. The welcome screen will help you start using the application. The quick start options include: creating a new file, starting a new recording, loading sound from a CD and transforming text into speech. Another option will give you instant access to recent files. Moreover, should you decide to take a tutorial, you may choose to learn how to record, how to import audio files from a CD, how to do basic audio editing or how to connect to your stereo equipment.
The interface is easy to use for an audio editor. The menu bar offers lots of commands, grouped as file operations, edition, effects, playback controls, view, noise reduction, analyze, bookmarking, tools, options and help. The file tool bar shows the most frequent operations. The transport tool bar is used to control playback. A vertical command bar groups commands under the headings "Files", "Tools", "Favorites" and "Quick Edit". In the center of the screen, there is a panel where you can visualize the sound waves being edited.
This software offers a comprehensive set of customizable effects, such as noise reduction, voice breath suppression, speed change, echo, pitch change, etc.
The software also offers tools like Batch Converter, File Merger, Text to Speech and WMA Information. Batch Converter provides an easy way to apply a list of selected effects to a large number of files. File Merger is used to combine sound files whereas Text to Speech uses Windows speech engine to generate audio from a written text. Finally, WMA Information will let you view and change file tags.
In general, MP3 Editor Pro is a fine application, with a high performance level. It even offers a trial version with full functionality for a month. Its drawback: why paying for a sound-editing application when you can have quite similar software free of cost?
